1Jeff Bezos Unveils His Big Plans for the Moon. Citizen space is becoming more real by the minute, and I cannot wait for the opportunity to go into orbit. Also, check out this guy who spent eight years building his own space suit. Dream + Drive + Crazy = Vision.

2Guyana Becomes First Country to Join the Transformational Travel Council. A new era of travel is truly upon us, Transformational Travel. I am the North American Ambassador for the council mentioned in the article. It is indeed exciting to be on the edge of what is next in tourism. To take a quote from this piece, “The transformational travel movement provides an opportunity to transcend from a consumptive form of tourism to a responsible form of travel that has a sustained impact on travelers,” meaning as a collective we want to help travelers create meaningful experiences that they take home and into their daily lives. It is an honor to be among fellow travel professionals who genuinely care about how we move through our world and the impact our footprints have wherever we go.

3The Cure for Your Next Infection May Come from Sewage. Each year, 700,000 people throughout the world die from drug-resistant diseases. The antidote could very well be found at your local sewage treatment plant or in a really rotten eggplant in South Africa. While it sounds totally disgusting, it could save tens of millions of lives in the future.

4How to Apply Tiger Woods’ Comeback Story to Your Life. This is an article I recently wrote about what Tiger’s amazing comeback can teach us. It can be summed up with this one quote: “Never give up…You always fight. Just giving up is never in the equation.” In my article, I include nine steps that can help you make your comeback.

5A Holistic Approach to Naturally Lowering Anxiety. This article says that over a BILLION people feel uneasy, meaning anxious or stressed. One place to start feeling better is by cleaning up your diet. I have pretty much given up caffeine in the morning and drinking a lot less wine in the evening. Same with cutting way, way down on refined sugar. I have taken salt off my table as well. I can honestly say I feel notably better. Other things you can do: have a spiritual practice, cultivate mindfulness, move your body, and have healthy eating and sleeping routines.

6Secrets of Happiness from the Oldest of the Old. A reporter spent a year following six people who were older than the age of eighty-five. Here is what he learned: Happiness is a choice. Well, I could have told him that. I have professed this for years. Though I did like reading about this choice from the perspective of having spent a long lifetime on this planet. To go with this article is another one about 6 Ways to Stay Healthy as You Age. Number one is to exercise, followed by nurturing friendships. Find out the other four.

77 Healing Morning Rituals That Will Help You Set An Intention For Your Day. Okay, this article is a bit new age-y though it does have some good ideas. I like their suggestion to use a peaceful alarm to wake-up in the morning, which is what I do. I use the bedtime timer on my iPhone and wake-up to chirping birds. Far better and kinder on your system in the morning than a raging alarm.

8The Matchless Presence of Doris Day. Even though she was ninety-seven, I was still sad to read that Doris Day has left the stage and is now a star in the sky. She was my mom’s favorite movie actress. Even to this day, when I visit home, my mom and I will curl up on the couch and watch a vintage Doris Day film. “Que Sera Sera. Whatever Will Be, Will Be.”

Thoughtful

“I love to laugh. It’s the only way to live.
Enjoy each day. It’s not coming back again!”

~ Doris Day

Happiness: The Art of Life Balance
As a longtime television producer, stress was my middle name. I have spent more than a decade studying what to do about it. Now, I work with professionals, especially those in the media, to help them get out of the crazy and into the happy (and yes, I still produce TV shows). I have put together a program that can fit into anyone’s schedule and can be joined anytime.
