Meet Frank Castro, Experience Specialist.
Curates travel throughout Africa, Nepal, and South America.
I grew up in Malibu, California and have spent much of my life traveling in search of perfect waves, beautiful peaks, and inspiring wildlife safaris. I have worked in various capacities with teams on film productions, in restaurants, and lodges in Los Angeles, Spain, South Africa, and Tanzania. After managing a luxury safari lodge in Tanzania, I ended up joining one of the leading mountain climbing outfitters in East Africa as the International Sales and Marketing Director. This gave me the opportunity to climb most mountains and volcanoes in East Africa and develop adventure programs. We pioneered mountain biking safaris in Tanzania, trekked with local Maasai into new areas, and built deep relationships with local communities. I spent many years traveling the continent of Africa visiting top end lodges and camps and curating programs for tour operators and people from all over the world.
I had dreams of starting operations in other destinations and expand out of East Africa. Thereafter I became, and still am, a principal partner of Adventure International, a travel company, which provides full-service adventure trips to remote destinations around the world, and emphasizes training programs, safety, ethics, and social responsible travel. Our first expansion point out of Africa was into the Himalayas and starting our own operations in Nepal. I spent many years trekking around the region and developing programs. From here we decided that our next area to set up operations was Peru and the Andes. I have concentrated my climbing and trekking efforts in Tanzania, Nepal, and Peru but have gone well above and beyond those areas. I can safely say that I have covered the globe extensively in my travels. I have spent countless hours finding and organizing adventures around the world for almost a decade for foundations and charities, creating charity challenge events. I am extremely passionate about making a local impact through travel. You will often find me surfing or exploring a new remote wilderness area to add to Adventure International’s list of exciting destinations.
