15 Places to Travel This Fall. Even though summer has come to an end, it does not mean travel adventures need to come to an end. What is even better is that both prices and crowds drop when you do an off-season vacation. Try Kingston, New York. Downtown Los Angeles. Setouchi Islands, Japan. Florence, Italy. Or, my pick, the Namib Desert, Namibia.

25 Beautiful Cities in France for Avoiding the Paris Crowds. Suggestions are Arles, Strasbourg, Dijon, Lille, and Toulouse. I like the ‘sustainable travel tips’ that they offer as well.

3This Hotel Has a ‘Veep’-themed Suite and Replica of Selina Meyer’s Oval Office. The Hamilton Hotel in Washington, D.C., offers guests the experience of living like a president. For you Julia Louis-Dreyfus fans, one room is decorated with original props from Veep. I know where I am going the next time I visit our country’s Capitol.

416 Packable Work Lunches That'll Actually Fill You Up. Packing your own lunches is one of the healthiest ways to control your food intake. Being that I am of Greek ethnicity, of course, my favorite suggestion is number fourteen, the Greek Chicken. Add a bit of tabbouleh and tzatziki, and I am saying Yassou!

5Common Food Additive May Impact Gut Bacteria, Increase Anxiety. Believe it or not, there is a two-way conversation that is going on between your brain and your gut. If you never heard of “emulsifiers” then today is the day you should start keeping an eye on them in your food. Bread, chocolate, margarine, processed meats, and more have additives that can lead to anxiety.

6Do This in the Morning for a Better Workday. We have all seen many articles on the benefits of detaching from work. Well, here is one on the benefits of “reattaching” to work when you are ready to come back to it. How? By asking these three questions: Why does the work I do matter? Who are the people that support my success? What would I like to focus on today? Answering these questions will help you to mentally prepare for the day, and will go miles to giving you a sense of purpose and motivation.

7Why Governments Should Prioritize Wellbeing. First Minister of Scotland puts forth the idea of a "wellbeing economy," where pursuing the GDP (Gross Domestic Products) should no longer be at all costs. It is time to measure a country’s success by the wellbeing of its citizens. Time to ask questions like: how happy are we as a population? What genuinely matters in our lives? What do we value in our communities? What kind of country and society do we want to be? An idea the South Asian country of Bhutan has been following for years. They measure the health of their nation by an index called the GNH (Gross National Happiness). A worthwhile and meaningful nine-minutes and fifty-two seconds watch.

Insight Timer App | Silent Wisdom Meditations
As many of you know, I teach meditation. I have been a long-time fan of the practice. Why? It is scientifically proven to reduce stress, control anxiety, promote emotional health, enhance self-awareness, lengthen attention span, reduce age-related memory loss, generate kindness, help to fight addictions, improve sleep, help control pain, decrease blood pressure; and you can meditate anywhere! Meditation is about as close as one can get to a wellness silver bullet. Recently, I started recording meditations for Insight Timer. I hope you enjoy these free guided sessions. Please follow me on the Insight Timer app.

Happiness: The Art of Life Balance
As a longtime television producer, stress was my middle name. I have spent more than a decade studying what to do about it. Now, I help professionals, especially those in the media, to get out of the crazy and into the happy (and yes, I still produce television shows). I have put together a program that can fit into anyone’s schedule and can be joined anytime.

Happy Weekend!
